About

Formed by a group of volunteers in 2008, the Irish Heritage Railway Group is currently researching the feasibility of establishing the first operational 5ft. 3in. (1,600mm) gauge preserved railway line in the Republic Of Ireland. Great strides have already been made in achieving this goal, with the committee now having identified a potential location for the project. Details will be made available once the group has concluded preliminary negotiations with landowners and the relevant authorities. We expect this phase to be completed by late autumn 2011.
